ROF formed in the fall of 2020, but the members of the band have been working together on and off for 4 decades. Joe Booe and Pete Bartolomei grew up a block away from each other and occasionally jammed together as young musicians. They would later work together in the prominent Chicago band StrictNine through the 90’s. Booe and guitarist Rob Christman worked together for a few years in the early 90’s in the band Geneva, where the foundation for the songs Hangman and Voices were first written. Joe Booe went on to front the Los Angeles band 7 Months. Christman continued on solo projects including Black Essox. Bartolomei and Jim Davidge would later work together in Chicago acts Markette and Skullcandy in the early 2000’s. Booe and Bartolomei would reunite, and a short stint of recording unreleased StrictNine songs from 2018-2020, Booe formed the band Joe Booe and The Dog with musician Tim Curtis, which featured a number of other artists, including Bartolomei and Davidge. 

After several months of encouragement, Rob Christman agreed to join with the other three to work on new material, and the new project was born with the debut single and band title track Reign of Fire. It was through the development of this song that the concept for the debut album was born. A soldier wounded in battle is lost somewhere in the unconscious realm, caught between death and madness, experiencing one past life, and death, after another. He battles with the lose of the life, and the woman, he knew and loved. Each song is a past life, and in most case, a past death, and feels himself inching closer to insanity or his final passing. We won’t know what awaits him until the final song of the album. Each song is being released as a single upon completion, giving fans the opportunity to experience the concept in real time.
